Fixed hitching from placing, removing, and replacing a character. New Game Plus Improvements and bug fixes. Added new music to accompany final comic scene. I haven t seen the film The Dark Crystal. Until today, in fact, I didn t know that was where this little screamy furball thing was from. And until the TV series based on it came out last year, I’d never really heard anyone talk about it. But apparently it was part of the standard films made in the 80s to permanently disturb the minds of children, and everyone just swore a pact never to mention it in front of me until that point. Lately I find myself listening to a lot of the same music I listened to growing up in the early 90s. I don’t know if it has to do with getting older – I’m turning 32 next week so naturally I’m growing more aware of my inevitable and impending death. Sometimes I wonder whether I’m just trying cocoon myself in the gentle safety of 90s memorabilia instead of having to deal with reality. The Dark Crystal is a 1982 fantasy film directed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz, and while its Muppet heritage is unmistakable, it is definitely not a movie about the ongoing adventures of Kermit and co. Among the sentences I least expected to write, “At E3, Nintendo just announced a PC-bound strategy-RPG based on Jim Henson’s cult ’80s fantasy muppetfest The Dark Crystal” ranks pretty high.
