This post will give you some background on this issue and show you how to fix it. Background Cook-Out uses OpenXR which means that it can and will run with any OpenXR runtime on your computer. This patch reverts the previous patch from last week (https://steamcommunity.com/games/1523720/announcements/detail/3747617344196555415) completely. As reported by users, the previous patch resulted in seemingly lost in-game progress, for which we are deeply sorry. We can confirm however that all save data still remains intact; the location where it's stored has simply changed. We have therefore released this temporary reversion patch to allow you to access your old save from before the previous patch again. Any save data from after said patch is however unavailable now instead. Thank you all
