We just set a small update live. This mostly removes some redundant and unneeded files from the install directory. With this update, you should also see a new option when starting the game: To launch the C1 Emergency Kit. This way, you don't have to navigate to the install directory anymore to start it.
We have updated Creatures Albian Years, and you should see Steam downloading and applying the update automatically. Mainly, this updates a compatibility layer to increase stability on modern systems for Creatures 2. Some known bugs or issues should also be fixed or at least improved such as import/exporting and the Creature's View. The game also should not ask to switch to 16bit color mode anymore - which potentially caused confusion as this window tended to appear behind the Creatures 2 main window.
Fall is upon us, and dark things might lurk around the corner. We have updated Creatures: The Albian Years, and you should see Steam downloading and applying the update automatically. We have updated Albian Years. This introduces the following changes: - The biochemistry tab in Creatures 1's science kit contained some German text. This has been fixed. - We implemented an experimental fix for Creatures 2 that may help those who still have serious issues starting the game. - We have added a cob to Creatures 2. A while ago, I found a unique installer among the files we were provided about the games. Creatures: The Albian Years is a compilation of Creatures 1 & 2 (originally released in 1996 and 1998), their life kits and many Object Packs. Later entries can be found under Creatures Docking Station, and its spinoff series for younger players is known as Creatures Village. The series is known for its complexity and depth, hidden beneath a veneer of being a cute pet simulation - and this release contains its first entries and their expansions.
