PeanutSoft is excited to announce a new version for PlanetVRium! It has been 4 months since our original release, and this update contains two new Visual Experiences and a new 3D interactive zoom mode as seen in “The Night Sky … in 3D”. Plus, a handful of small bug fixes and other improvements. Also, in honor of the annual Perseids meteor shower, there is a new “meter shower mode”. The Perseids start in late-July, peak on August 12 and 13, and continue into late August. I hope you will have some opportunity to see the Perseids, in real life, but unfortunately this year there is a full moon on

Added Visual Experience: My Vision. Added Visual Experience: Shapes in the Sky. Zoom Light Year Scale mode. Note this mode is intentionally not saved to your preferences; instead "Simple Rotation" will be selected on next app restart. Whereas selecting “Latitude/Time Rotation" or "Simple Rotation" will be saved to preferences and automatically restored during subsequent startup. I felt that Light Year Zoom was a novelty experience to "play with" for a little while, and not really desired as a long-term star viewing environment. Meteor Shower mode, which is "on" by default. PeanutSoft is pleased to announce the first public release of PlanetVRium. It has been a long journey for us to get this far, but we believe we have created a quality Virtual Reality space simulation which has achieved our goals of a fun and educational planetarium experience. There is still more to come: more Visual Experiences, and more interactive features, but we wanted to get this version out to the public and share our enthusiasm with the rest of the junior astronomers.
