Amongst at least half a dozen prototypes for "my next big game" and beside a relative side-project or two Erma, a viable Frebbventure sequel is finally starting to take shape! "Frebbventure Alliance" is the working title. What's different this time around? Nothing but also everything. It's still a fast-paced, combat-focused action platformer with Kirby-style movesets. It's still heavy on story and especially atmosphere, and it's still playable at a base level with a nearly unlimited technical skill ceiling. I've finally got around to replacing the old encrypted save system with something that should allow you to transfer save files more easily. This new file format will automatically copy, but not replace, the data from your old files upon booting the game. If you navigate to the "Frebbventure" folder in AppData/local, you might see for example a file named "frebbventure_save1.sav" along with one named "frebb_save_1_newformat." In case the name doesn't make it obvious enough, the latter is your new, transferable save file. I should note, this is purely a futureproofing feature: if your old file h

The point of this latest patch is to make Roxy a more fun character to play as based on user feedback, and absolutely not to fix yet another handful of crashes. The main changes to her are: - She now starts moving a BIT faster from a standstill. - Overall air control is more sensitive. - Her dodge covers significantly more ground. It's still nowhere near as good as Drinn's, but it's not quite borderline useless anymore. - Her aerial up attack has a slightly larger hitbox, and gives a stronger upward boost. - Her shoulder slam has received the most adjustment. Disclaimer: DON'T PANIC! I already backed up the most recent development build. It is stored safely, soundly, and snuggly across multiple redundant devices. That being said, while attempting to install a pair of 8GB ram sticks early this afternoon, I may or may not have completely and utterly destroyed the only (relatively) powerful and up-to-date machine in my household. Best case scenario, I get it into a professional place next Monday, and they have it fixed by Tuesday, after which I can continue bug squashing. Remember the good old days when games worked out of the box? I don't, I grew up with the GameCube, and if Sonic got absorbed by a solid stone wall and fell into the void, that was YOUR problem.
