Soldak are among my favourite developers. With Din’s Curse, Drox Operative, and Depths of Peril they have three ARPGs that put the static worlds of their glossier genre-mates to shame. Quests are dynamic in a Soldak game and the world and its NPCs interact while you’re looking the other way. Details are scarce at the moment but Soldak have released the first details about their next game, which will see the developer return to the world of Depths of Peril and Din’s Curse. As the headline suggests, the game will involve zombies. Lots of the rotters bringing about the collapse of civilisation, as they so often do. When the undead manage to infect even the most imaginative of indie developers, the epidemic has surely reached crisis point but I’d be surprised if Soldak didn’t come up with an intriguing treatment. Another Indie Royale bundle has been unleashed upon us. While I've heard some grumbles complaining of indie bundle over-saturation in the past few months, these bundles are still one of the better ways to get a hold of some great games at a low cost. Updates to Depths of Peril have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. Depths of Peril is now available for MAC OS X. Depths of Peril is a single player action RPG (role-playing game) with strong strategy elements. You play as a faction leader protecting the barbarian city, Jorvik, by destroying threatening monsters and completing quests. At the same time, you compete with rival factions to see who will rule the city. Barbarians choose their leaders by fighting to the death!
