February 1st, 2021. Until yesterday, that was the last time Ubisoft had posted anything on the official Rayman Tweeter account. That outstanding streak has been broken because the platforming series has turned 30, promting the publisher to reaffirm that a team of devs is still busy working on Rayman's future, with news to come, er, not very soon. "Hi, folks! You wanna know what's going on?" If a cold bead of sweat just ran down your forehead in response to reading this, you'll already know what's up. The original 1995 Rayman is, categorically, one of the toughest games of its era; its cutesy kid-friendly art style belying its diabolically hellish platforming. It walked so Hollow Knight's Path of Pain could run (or nail jump). Rayman Legends is one of those videogames I constantly find myself returning to. I'll jump back in multiple times a year to start a fresh save and swiftly remember why I fell in love with it in the first place. Ubisoft's platformer is by far my favorite entry in the genre, even over a decade since launch. If you've never played it, not only does it have some of the freshest ideas you've ever seen, but it's also jam-packed with content. Hello everyone, We are pleased to announce that Steam Achievements are now available for Rayman Legends! As a heads up, achievements will be retroactively earned for the accomplishments already completed in your game. For the sync to happen you need to launch the game once, and the previously unlocked Ubisoft Connect achievements will be automatically unlocked on Steam. To ensure that you can complete 100% of the Steam Achievements for Rayman Legends, we've removed 8 achievements that required online services that are no longer available for the game.

Rayman Legends is one of the greatest 2D platform games ever released, and an essential Steam sale pick-up if you've never played one of Ubisoft's best. Michel Ancel has announced he has left the video game industry to focus full-time on a wildlife sanctuary. Ancel's prolific 30-year career saw him create franchises at Ubisoft such as Rayman, Rabbids and Beyond Good & Evil. Ubisoft's sublime platformer Rayman Legends is currently free to download on the Epic Store. Granted, you might already be up to your nose-pits in free games by this point, slowly sinking beneath the unstoppable deluge in flailing terror, but there's no denying that Rayman Legends is a worthy addition to any collection, even if it did come out 2013. Somehow, in gaming’s fourth decade, we’re still endlessly confronted by the peculiar mainstream misconception that video games are meant for children. The peculiarity that this myth maintains is outright ludicrous at this point, because gaming itself is now mainstream. Sure, in the early ’90s you could forgive a confused aunt for not realising that cartoony console games like Mario and Sonic had broad appeal, and we’re the totality of the medium. Now?
