Today, August 24th, 2026, is the 10-year anniversary of Obduction!Obduction was Cyan's first crowdfunded project. The project achieved its funding goal in November 2013. Development on the game commenced soon after, with its release following approximately two and a half years later.To help celebrate this anniversary, some members of the original Obduction team (Eric A. Anderson, Karl Johnson, and Hannah Gamiel) came together recently to do a retrospective on it, which you can find a recording of here. Fixed crash on startup on some machines, like 11th gen intel machines. Very specific, we know! It has to do with an SSL library thing that Intel doesn't have pre-installed that causes issues with startup on Obduction.

Hey all, We've pushed out a small update today to address the issues that were being caused by HDR. After quite a bit of discussion, looking at our options, and finding out what we could do with the small amount of time and resources we have, we've come to the conclusion that we'll have to disable support for HDR for the time being. We'll post an update with news if or when we're able to revisit this issue. Thanks everyone.

HDR on PC hasn’t improved much in 2019. Despite there being more HDR gaming monitors than ever before, the very s for HDR continue to be quite expensive compared to non-HDR monitors, and the situation around Windows 10 support for it is still a bit of a mess.
