I'm going to say it: I'm tentatively excited for Horizon Hunters Gathering. While its artstyle is a dramatic departure from what the series is known for, the new co-op game promises a fast-paced, Monster Hunter-adjacent experience, and that's something I'll always turn up for. In doing so, however, it also serves as a crushing reminder of Dauntless, a game I poured hundreds of hours into before it was ripped from our hands. Free-to-play Monster Hunter rival Dauntless has finally launched on Steam after years on Epic's storefront, and it hasn't gone down well with players. New to Dauntless Steam Launch They said it would never happen…and yet here we are - Dauntless is now available directly on Steam! Dauntless remains, as always, fully crossplay and cross-progression. Monster Hunter Wilds is without question my most-anticipated game of 2025, and I'm sure that's true for many.
