Tyranny, the Infinity Engine-esque RPG Kickstarted by Obsidian that isn't Pillars of Eternity, is hands down one of the finest RPGs I've ever played. It takes the familiar template Bioware laid down with Baldur's Gate and does interesting and innovative things with the world and story, all wrapped up in a relatively lean thirty-hour playtime. As though we didn’t already have several massive new games to get through this month, next week we’re getting a bunch of RPGs thrust upon us, too. Epic Games have revealed their free games for the week starting December 10th are two big Obsidian romps, Pillars Of Eternity – Definitive Edition and Tyranny – Gold Edition. It just so happens that they’re free on the very same day that Cyberpunk 2077 launches. So, will you go for a new futuristic RPG that’s gonna cost you upwards of £50? You can pick up Borderlands, Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny and many more all-consuming games in the latest Humble RPG Bundle. As usual, it's a multi-tier affair with the more money you commit granting you access to even more games. Starting at a ridiculously low 83p, you'll get Hiveswap: Act 1, Deep Sky Derelicts and Immortal Planet for the minimum investment. Today’s Humble Caffeine Bundle is chock full of very good games for very little money, but a little hard to categorise. I’m not sure if Valve’s latest promotional wotsit on Steam knows whether it’s coming or going. On one hand, it’s nice that the Spring Cleaning Event (running until Monday, 28th May) is nudging players into trying out games they may have bought in sales and never touched, but pairing that with nine simultaneous free weekend events does somewhat undermine the message. EA has been quietly packing its paid subscription service, Origin Access, with a long list of excellent games over the past few months. It all started when it let third-party publishers in on the act, adding most of the Batman games.  Both The Witness and Wasteland 2 weren't far behind, and last month Mad Max, Pillars of Eternity and Torment: Tides of Numenera all entered the fray.
