Another week of Elegon development is underway, with some great quality-of-life improvements alongside updates to combat, bosses, the Compendium, equipment and animations.AoE Looting Is HereOne of the biggest quality-of-life additions this week is AoE looting.When several nearby creatures have loot available, you'll now be able to collect their items together rather than looting every creature individually.I've also made a few other improvements to looting:Items looted while in a party are now shown to other party members in party chat.With auto loot disabled, you can hold Shift while clicking

Enhanced Chat SystemIn the past, we had a pretty simple global chat where everyone was just talking in one big room. Now, you can switch between channels using commands like /g for global chat and /w for whisper. You can also type out the full command like /global or /whisper if you prefer. The system will also remember which channel you were last chatting in, and you can reply to the latest whisper with /r. I'm planning on adding even more channels soon, like /p for party chat.Character Name TagsI'm also introducing a new character tag system. This means that you no longer have to worry about

Tab Targeting now only selects enemies in front of you (within a 120° cone).Your current target’s nameplate is now highlighted, making it much easier to distinguish from nearby enemies.You can now target enemies by clicking directly on their floating nameplate. Previously you had to click on the enemy’s body, but both methods now work.You can also cycle backwards through available targets by pressing Shift + Tab, allowing you to quickly move through enemies in reverse order.

You can now pick from several screen resolutions to run the game at.This will help alot with proformance for players (like me) who are using a 4K monitor and just want to run the game at 2k for example.

Added a setting to enable/disable SSAOModified in game lighting settings to improve performance without losing fidelityFixed a bug where Mages could still auto attack while casting a spellRecall is now set to action button 24 by default when starting a new characterI hope you enjoy this little update, I'd expect to see a 20% performance increase (more if disabling SSAO).

With this update, quests will now be fully persistent. This means you can start working on a quest objective, logout and when you log back in later - you'll be just where you left off.This is all part of building the foundation for our quest system and you can expect to see many more quest and quest chains being added shortly! This update also adds the addition of SSAO (Thank you for the suggestion Zharkan!). This dramatically improves the visuals of Elegon and makes it more cosy and immersive than ever.I hope you enjoy this regular update and as I say, Expect plenty more very soon!

I've added a small FPS counter to the bottom left of the in-game UI. This should help us ensure the client is staying performant as the project grows!I've also done some work to increase FPS and I've been seeing around a 40% improvement so far.Performance is something I'll always be improving but this update should make a big difference if you were getting low FPS before!

In this update, I’ve removed the option to log in with an anonymous account. While it was helpful initially, it unfortunately made it too easy for bad actors to gain access.From now on, you can log in using your preferred authentication provider, currently Email and Discord are supported.This was an update I always planned to implement, and I’m glad to have proper player accounts in place moving forward.
