I've made cozy gaming most of my personality in the past several years, but even I sometimes feel numb to the aesthetically-mandated cotton candy color palette. Sometimes I want to play a cozy game while giving my eyes a little rest from the pastel apocalypse. Promise Mascot Agency was already wonderfully weird when it released back in April, so when I saw that its latest update adds Tony Hawk-style grinding tricks into its bizarro Japanophile delivery sim, my instant reaction was, "Oh yes, of course." If anything, I'm surprised the game launched without the ability to propel your van along a steel road barrier in a glorious shower of sparks. Shame on you, Kaizen Game Works, for not thinking of this sooner!.. Read more.

Some games really leave you feeling like you're in a fever dream, and Promise Mascot Agency falls perfectly into that category. One of the most random, jarring, yet brilliant open-world RPGs around, it combines all manner of genre influences and surreal character designs to create something totally unique. Promise Mascot Agency, Kaizen Game Works' thing about running a business that revolves around costumed weirdos, fairly intense menu shuffling and a lot of driving around, has gotten a free update that adds in a host of new features. The ability to grind along rails like Michi's truck's a skateboard, for instance. Sure, you can already unlock the ability to fly said truck around the spooky Japanese countryside, but come on, if there's something every management game needs, it's tricks from the X Games.
